Dormant account policy

Inactive Notion accounts may be permanently deleted after 5 years of inactivity. This policy is designed for your safety and to minimise long-term retention of unused data.

Dormant accounts are free user accounts in which the user has been inactive for five (5) years.

Inactivity is measured as:

• Failing to log into the account in five years.

• Failing to edit or create any content in any workspace for five years.

Workspaces will be deemed dormant if all the owners of the workspace have a dormant user account.

A Notion Account that is in use is considered active. Example of activity can include these actions whilst you’re signed into your Notion Account:

• Viewing a page

• Creating or editing content

• Leaving or replying to comments

• Sharing a page or inviting a member/guest to a workspace

We will not delete accounts that are:

• Managed by an organisation

• Currently associated with a paid workspace (Enterprise, Business, Student, or Plus)

• Owners of a multi-user workspace

• When we identify a dormant account, the account owner is sent an email stating that the dormant account and any dormant workspace will be terminated and Delete in thirty days unless there is activity in the account within those thirty days.

• If the thirty day period lapses without activity in the account, the account and any corresponding workspaces will be terminated and Delete.
