Promoting NGI / IPv6 Development in Education

Technical Seminar

The Hong Kong Next Generation Internet Society (HKNGIS) is planning to hold a series of Technical Seminars to promote the development and use of Next Generation Internet (NGI) technologies to the community in Hong Kong in the coming months.  The first seminar has been arranged and will be held on March 9, 2012, in the Function Room of the Hong Kong Productivity Council Building.  The focus of this seminar is to promote NGI / IPv6 technologies to the education sector in Hong Kong, including universities and K12 schools.

HKNGIS is pleased to have invited Professor Wu Jianping, Director of CERNET Center and Director of Network Research Center of Tsinghua University, to be the Keynote Speaker for this occasion.  CERNET is the China Education and Research Network that oversees the network development of the Universities and Schools in China, while CERNET2 is the key player supporting China’s NGI development in the academic and education sector. They have a leading edge in the NGI technologies and deployment of IPv6 in the Universities and Schools.

We are also pleased to have Mr. Victor Lam, Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Consulting and Operations) to deliver the opening address.  And together with other industry leaders who will speak in the seminar, it is our target to foster the faster pace of development of Next Generation Internet and IPv6 developments in Hong Kong.
