HKNGIS Members visited Juniper Networks Laboratory in Hong Kong

HKNGIS members had a very interesting visit to the Juniper Networks Hong Kong on January 7, 2011. We were received by Mr Tony Wong, Sales Manager, Enterprise, Hong Kong and Macau of Juniper Networks. After an introduction of Juniper Networks by Tony, we had a guided tour of their laboratory set up in Hong Kong. After the tour, members heard an in-depth presentation from their Consulting Systems Engineer, Mr Aaron Tong, on Juniper’s strategy on IPv6 transition mechanism with pros and cons on various deployment alternatives.

According to their company profile, Juniper Networks offer a high-performance network infrastructure that help service providers, enterprises, and public sector organizations create value and accelerate business within the new, changing global market place.

After the presentation, members had a very interesting discussion on their views of the IPv4 depletion issue, and also touched on how the HKNGIS can help Hong Kong to initiate the development in tacking the exhaustion of the IPv4 addresses.
